EDUC 4552 Website Assignment

Through this assignment, you will be able to build an online presence that meets the needs of accessibility for families and students alike. In your case, you will use your website to communicate with your instructor as well as your classmates throughout this semester.

First, remember to access this page as a resource to build your final design – it will change in content and design as the semester develops.

Here are the pages that you will need to have before next class:

1. Build one home page from a “post:” add a greeting, an image, or a quote. Something that tells your families and students what your site is about. In your case specifically, you might want to greet visitors who are your your fellow students, or outside class friends;

2. Build ten “pages” (these are tabs for your menu) with the following titles: 1) Fieldtrip Project; 2) Game Project; 3) Map Project; 4) News Report; 5) Case Study; 6) Unit Plan; 7) App Project ; 8) Children’s Literature; 9) Fieldtrip; 10) About Me – you can call this page anything you want. For example, it can be, all about Jackie, Find out about Amber, or “Who Is Nina?” In addition, you can easily just name the tab with your name, “Anna,” or “This Rachel,” or “Margaret Here.”

3. Make a “Contact Me” form: same idea here, you can customize it to read, “Talk to Pixie,” or “Contact Elf,” or just plain “Contact Me.” You will see that the form offers different ways to customize your form, but the simpler, the better. Remember that we will all use this form to be in touch with each other, so make sure that you check the e-mail account that you used to set up your wordpress site frequently!

Finally, send me your final address so that I can add it to ivillagecentral.com!

Enjoy, and please do not hesitate to ask questions along the way.
